Angel Oak

The Angel Oak tree is located on John's Island just outside of Charleston. It is this HUGE live oak tree. It is really neat to go and see. They say that this tree is the oldest living thing east of the Rockies. It is estimated to be over 1500 years old! The other day we decided to go and see the tree and take some pictures. It may not sound too amusing to go see a big old tree....but it really is one of the coolest things. And the best part about it, is that it is FREE to get in! Anyways, I have posted a bunch of pictures below, sorry it is a lot, but the tree is so big that you have to snap a bunch of pictures to see the different parts of the tree.

MEASUREMENTS OF THE TREE:

Height: 65 Feet

Circumference: 25.5 Feet
Area of Shade: 17,000 sq. Feet
Largest Limb: Circumference: 11.25 Feet
Length: 89 Feet
