"We'll be having some fun!!" And fun we had!! This past week we had the opportunity to head down to Houston, Texas to visit my sister Emily. My parents, all of my brothers, and my sister Heather with her little boy, Will, drove down from Charlotte, NC. Mike and I with the 2 kiddos drove down from Tennessee and we were all able to hang out together in Texas. Our other sister, Ashley and her husband Justin werent able to come this trip having to work. It was a fun trip filled with lots of different things to do.
Now as you can see the title of this blog was about a boardwalk....thats b/c we started out our first day of this trip down at the Kemah Boardwalk. This boardwalk sits right on the water on one of the many bay areas of Houston right off the Gulf of Mexico. The boardwalk was full of restaurants and also had a pavilion areathat had all kinds of rides on it. Lets just say Addison was in heaven!! They had a few rides for little kids...every little kids dream--except for the fact that their carousel was broken which just happens to be Addison's favorite ride, so that was a bit of a disappointment. But oh well, Addie didnt let that get her down and she still had a blast.
The Kemah Boardwalk was a really cool atmosphere, and the awesome weather made the evening that much more perfect! We were able to ride some of the rides in the late afternoon, then had some AWESOME Mexican Food right there on the boardwalk overlooking the water, and then went back to the pavilion to ride more rides late into the night. It was a fun evening and it was a place we dont regret visiting...
This next thing is pretty funny and pretty lame. We came across this so called
Hurricane Simulator". Nic (my brother) wanted to see what it was all about. So Nic, being the one to waste $2.00 on the stupid thing--volunteered myself and my brother Cameron to try it out. So Cam and I were the lucky ones to try it out.....lets just say, it turned out to be pretty lame. The wind speed only got up to be about 84 mph.....no where near a STRONG Hurricane. It was a good run for Nic's $2.00 though.
Thanks for a good time Kemah Boarwalk....until next time----maybe.
