Back in November, I was online searching for Nurse Anesthetist jobs because I always like to see what is out there just for the heck of it. Well Mike (back then) had been hearing a lot of rumors about his Surgery Center, and they werent good rumors... so during my browsing on the internet, I found a job posting for a Nurse Anesthetist in Greenville, SC. So I showed Mike the posting and said, "why dont you apply? Why not? What do you got to lose?" So indeed he did. Well unexpectedly, about a week later, they called him and wanted to interview him! Say whaaaaaat!!?! So the first week of December, Greenville Memorial (the hospital he applied for), flew him down there, put him up in a posh, 5 star hotel, and interviewed him. Sadly, after the interview was over, Mike didnt feel he did all that well in it and was very down on himself. 3 weeks past by and we hadnt heard anything so we were like "ok, whatever", I mean afterall, we were just applying for the heck of it to see what happens. We werent looking to move anytime soon. Well just after that 3 week mark, on a Sunday night around 9:00pm might I add, Mike's phone starts ringing and it was a South Carolina number, I said "answer it! answer it!". Indeed he answered and wouldnt you know, it was Greenville Memorial Hospital offering Mike a job!! He of course, accepted and BAM, we were moving.
We had thought a lot about this job, prayed about it, talked about it, etc..etc...etc... This job is offering us a lot more money, South Carolina is WAY cheaper to live in than New York, South Carolina lets you keep your guns, and by moving to Greenville, it will bring us closer to family and friends. We were dumb not to take this offer. So with much sadness and excitement, we made the decision to move our family to Greenville, South Carolina. I say sad b/c we have thoroughly LOVED living here in the Rochester area. We have a wonderful ward (church), awesome friends, amazing schools, great neighborhood, and we just bought our house less than 2 years ago. But again, we are so excited to get back home to South Carolina and be closer to friends and family.
We are so blessed to have gotten this new job, and things seem to be falling into place so well. We listed our house on the market back in January, and within 2 1/2 weeks, the house was SOLD! We close March 31st. Mike unfortunately will be headed down there a month before me and the kids do. YAY for the single parent life!! (enter sarcasm here)....But we will survive, I hope and cant wait to get down to the WARM and SUNNY south! Did I mention it was WARM and SUNNY dont there/? Not too sure they know what those 2 words mean here in New York.
So there you have it....Good Bye, New York and HELLO again South Carolina!! We are coming home!!
