Well since this has been posted on Facebook, I guess that means that its official then. Most of you know, some of you dont. So for those of you who dont know---this post is for you. We are expecting again! Yep! I am due somewhere around January 17th, 2012. We have had quite a bumpy road with this pregnancy...but I am happy to report all is well now.
The Story: We actually had found out that we were expecting a baby back in March 2011. Then on April 9th...I had started bleeding and all that, so we headed into the Emergency Room to find that the baby had no heartbeat and I was in the middle of miscarrying. That very day, the doc agreed to do a d & c....basically its a small procedure when the doc goes in to remove the fetus and all the tissue, etc.... Then on May 9th, I went to the doctor for my 4 week follow-up after my d&c where the doc did some blood work b/c it was routine to do so. They do it to make sure that your hcg levels are going back down to 0. When he got the results the hcg levels seemed a little high but told me that it was probably still just leftover from the miscarriage. But he wanted to take some more blood work to see if the numbers were continuing to drop. 2 days later I get a call from the nurse saying they had jumped up by 300 and to come back in for more blood work (by then I was like--seriously!) So I headed back into the doctor for a third time for blood. 2 days later the nurse calls me and said my hcg levels were up by 8000 and that I was indeed pregnant again. Needless to say, Mike and were pretty shocked!! We are very excited though, for Baby #3 to be joining our family. I had gone in for an ultrasound after all my blood work to confirm the pregnancy and they also had to estimate a due date for me since I have no last period to go by, which is how they came up with January 17th based on how the baby was measuring.
After passing my 7th week--which is when I had miscarried previously.....I was happy to see that I had passed over that "point". Right at 8 weeks though, I had laid down to go to bed when I felt a "gush". I went into the bathroom to find more bleeding---SCARY!! So Mike and I went back into the ER thinking the worse. They did an ultrasound and thankfully there was a heartbeat and our little babe was jumping around everywhere. They had told me that I basically had some hemorrhaging going on and they thought that it was due to my previous miscarriage. I was put on bedrest for 3 weeks until I had a follow-up ultrasound done. Oh joy for me!!
Well 3 weeks came and they did an ultrasound and I happy to report that ALL is well with baby....we were even able to find out what the baby is...and we are MORE than THRILLED and EXCITED to FINALLY announce that we are expecting a.........................
Thats right!!!! We are finally expecting our first Baby BOY!!!!!!!!
The look on Michael's face is one that I will never forget! First we didnt think we would be able to find out seeing that I was only 14 weeks along, but the tech said that she had a clear view of what our little guy was and asked if we wanted to find out. Of course Mike and I were like "YES"!! And then we both had said "just give it to us, tell us we are having another girl, we are prepared for a third girl". When she said that it was a BOY, I had shot up and was screaming "NO WAY!!" I then proceeded to ask her how sure she was b/c a lot of times these techs say that they are only like 70% or 80% sure. She said that she was 100% sure and she has yet to ever be wrong. Plus the ultrasound picture seemed pretty clear of what our little guy was. We are so head over heels about this little guy joining and completing our family. Besides me being on bedrest....this pregnancy really has been probably my best ones. I have not thrown up ONCE, nor have I really been that nauseated. The fatigue continues to kill me, but I will take fatigue over the nausea any day.
And there you have it....that is the beginning of our story about our little guy getting here. Again, we are very excited and cant wait for him to get here!!
