So everyday we have managed to go to the local park here to play tennis and run around the loop (the jogging trail around the park) at least once. Mike and I are deteremined to get back into shape and lose some of our "fattyness" that we have managed to take on since Addison was born a year and half ago. We have really been enjoying ourselves, especially the playing of tennis together. It has really been so GOOD on our relationship and time together. It is a form of exercise and it is something that we both totally suck at, and something that we are both very new to. Therefore we have been learning together. It has been so awesome for me, b/c Mike now dedicates at least an hour everyday from his studies to go out and play tennis which means TIME with ME, the WIFE, the SOUL MATE, the COMPANION!! The one thing he almost forgot about last semester (i am kidding...he didnt forget me he was just very stressed and very busy).
But getting to my point after writing a 1000 word paragraph there (sorry). When we first started working out we started running together...the only problem with that was.......I HATE RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT!!!!! I have always HATED it and always will! I dont enjoy it no matter how hard I try, I cant keep up with Mike, and I cant even run the whole 1.3 mile loop there at the park (pathetic I know) and I feel like I am slowing Mike down...well I AM slowing Mike down. So, lately, at the park there has been this lady coming and she rollerblades around the loop pushing her little kid in a stroller...and then a little light came on in my head (DING) I said to myself, "I could totally do that!! I have the kid, I have the jogging stroller, now all I need is the skates!" DONE...Mike and I headed over to our local Target and that is when I found those lovely pair of rollerblades as I have pictured above. The ones with the awesome teal color on them. I am totally pulling a "Kip" on Napoleon Dynamite and I am LOVING every minute of it!!
So today was my first adventure of rollerblading....and let me tell you....I just about DIED!! And I thought running was bad....WHEW!! But to tell you the truth...as much as it kicked my butt more than I thought it would...I absolutely LOVED it!! And I can actually KEEP UP with Mike....that was a miracle in itself. But it was good...I think I finally found something that can almost compare to running, but isnt (thank goodness) that I actually enjoyed. I highly recommend it.
**as you can see from this post, I really dont have anything interesting to blog about. This past week, there really hasnt been much going on. Mike started back up with classes. And Addison and I have been just doing our usualy things...grocery shopping, Playgroups, and storytimes at the library. But life is good and we are still enjoying our time that we have here in Tennessee.

That's such a great idea b/c I can't stand running either...scratch that, my knees can't stand me running. I tried doing the whole "Couch to 5k" program and still no dice! I bet they could definitely handle some roller-blading though!! Thanks for thinking of that for me :)
lol- I totally have rollerblades in the garage from Brad & I's glory days.... I should pull them out and give the neighbors a good laugh!
Yeah for roller blading, an exercise that you enjoy. I take it you will not be running the half marathon with me then, oh well I guess I'll have to keep working on my marathon by myself.
That's awesome! Good for you! When it gets cooler here, and after I have our baby, I'll have to go out more! Enjoy your nice weather! And time together is Always good!!!! :)
OH I love it, i may have to invest I have been hitting the old gym but I hate being inside, cause Im always inside. Would you be offended if I copied you? Im glad you have found your cure to Running!
I rollerbladed with Lucy everyday. Now I have to decide if I dare do it with a double stroller.
