Are we crazy?? Yes....Are we random?? Yes...You are probably thinking...what are these people doing when they already have a dog, a toddler, and a baby on the way?? We think the same things about ourselves...but we went ahead and did it anyways. Yesterday we headed to our local PetSmart and adopted 2 little parakeet birds.
So far, so good...but it hasnt even been a full 24 hours yet, so we will see how this goes. I must say, this is more of Mike's idea than mine...but being the lovely wife that I am (maybe the stupid wife)...I went a long with it.
So it brings us to today....we now have 2 new members of the family. We have no names for these birds yet...Mike calls them "Moose" and "Rocko" b/c parakeets are a type of parrot..and parrots are "pimp" slash "thug" birds because usually thugs have parrots....so he is going along with "Moose" and "Rocko" because they sound like thug names.
My mom thinks we should name them "Wando" and "Ashley" b/c those are the 2 other major rivers that run through the Charleston, SC area (where we are from) and Cooper, our dog, is named after the 3rd major river that runs through Charleston. So we shall see what fits the best.
Addison is loving "her" new birds and "tweets" to them 100 times a day. Cooper is still getting used to the fact that there are 2 new strangers in the house, but he has handled them much better than we ever thought he would. We shall see how this goes...We have 14 days to return them back to the Pet Store...so only time will tell to see how this will work out. WISH US LUCK! And YES, we are crazy!!!

She was so excited to wake up this morning and see that her birds were still here. Please excuse the jammies and the no hair being done.

Great pets for kids but good luck cleaning all that bird poo poo! I had to take care of a cocktiel for 5 years at Pioneer care center and by the end I would have fed it to the dog if the old people did not love it so much!
Yea you're crazy! The cage looks pretty sweet and I'll bet Addie loves them. If I was a better mom I would get Macey something like that, but I don't want to clean up after her and her pets. Good luck!
If you can stand the noise, go for it. Good thing you don't have a cat!
