The Next Mrs. Nefler...

So as I had mentioned in a previous post, I received a new church calling my first day back to church. They called me to be over the Cub Scouts in our ward. Scouts...at first I was taken off guard a bit...usually I just get called into either Primary, Relief Society, or Young Women---yes, I have been in all 3 of these presidencies. But when the counselor dude said "scouts", I kind of got excited. Kind of a nervous, excited ya know?? Although I have 4 younger brothers, I was never really much involved with their scouting, meaning I dont know ANYTHING about scouting. And when I realized that I didnt know ANYTHING about scouting, ok...ok...I know a little bit. A little bit being that they camp, hike, and like to do lots of outdoorsie type stuff, in which I really have never been much of an outdoorsie type of person. Lets put it this way...I dont do snakes, I dont do bugs, I dont do wild animals, never been much of a hiker (i will attempt, though). I dont like to be cold and stuck in the outdoors, my definition of camping is finding the nearest Marriott--in which they better have a heated pool. My list can go on and on as to why I am not much of an outdoorsie person. BUT, I am excited and I am anxious to take on this new role and to try to do some new things and perhaps become a little more outdoorsie...

Look out Scout World...the next Phyllis Nefler is here!! (for those of you Troop Beverly Hills Movie fans)

"theres bugs, and it rains there"

This is how I see myself when me and the boys are out camping/hiking--minus the cig..

I was a den leader and actually loved it....most of the time. ;) My favorite part--no Sunday responsibilities. I could go to church and enjoy it. You'll do great. And we never did much hiking or dealt with bugs so I think you're on the clear.
