Toronto, Ontario, Canada

On 08.13.13, we decided to take a little over-nighter trip to Toronto.  I had a free hotel stay with my Marriott rewards so we booked hotel in downtown Toronto..did I mention it was FREE??  Thats the best part!  Anyhow, Toronto is only about 3 hours away from us, so off we went.  It was a nice little getaway trip for our family.  Toronto is a cool city, we just wished we had more time to see more of it.  It is very clean and has a lot to offer.  We look forward to going back someday soon--perhaps AFTER the winter passes.

We had a late start getting to Toronto and the kids were starving, so we found this little mexican type place to eat at...it was pretty good actually, plus they had outdoor seating.

Mmm chips and salsa..you cant go wrong

Some kind of proof that we were indeed, in Canada

Pretty cool reflection pool area, in the winter time, the pool freezes and it turns into a public ice skating rink

Our hotel was just a few blocks from the famous CN Tower, in fact, we could see it from our hotel room.  The CN Tower was once the World's Tallest Free Standing Tower, and now remains the Tallest Free Standing Tower in the Western Hemisphere since it was beat out by some other tower in Dubai.  At night it was cool because it changed colors.  You can actually go up in it, which we would have loved too, except it is mega bucks and with 3 kids in tow, our cheap selves didnt believe it was worth the money where the kids wont remember it.  Anyways...

Another shot with all of us, minus Mike (taking the pic) with the CN tower in the background

Rogers Centre...where the Toronto Blue Jays were currently playing the Boston Red Sox

Hotel lounge time, thank you Disney Channel!

The next day, we decided to visit the Toronto Zoo.  We had heard really good things, and they were all true.  The zoo didnt not disappoint.
